Mindfulness Walking Weekend 30th June 1st July

A weekend of mindful walking in the Malvern Hills

30th June 1st July

Come and walk in silence and connect with the natural world. We will walk slowly, opening our senses to the beauty and wildness of the Malvern Hills.

Studies have shown that the mind returns to peaceful states more quickly in the natural world. Giving our attention to the natural world can take us out of our ordinary states of mind and into gratitude, awe and a sense of spaciousness and groundedness.

We will walk from Amida Mandala Buddhist Temple to Gullet Quarry, where we’ll camp at The Orchard at Ruffz Refreshments Kiosk – walking back to the temple on Sunday.

Instructions on mindful walking will be given and there will be a talk on Saturday night, and seated meditation on Sunday morning before walking.

Whilst the walking will be in silence there will be times for chat too. Dinner on Saturday evening, and lunch for Sunday will be provided. We’ll ask participants to bring their own lunch for Saturday.

Led by Rev Khemashalini and Acharya Kaspalita

Rev Khemashalini leads ‘walking with Amida’ mindful walks, and assists at Amida Mandala Buddhist Temple, she is also a senior nurse in the NHS.

Acharya Kaspalita teaches mindfulness classes in Malvern. He co-runs Amida Mandala Buddhist temple, and is a psychotherapist in private practice.

Cost – No cost – donations welcome – this event is supported by the the Malvern Hills AONB Sustainable Development Fund.
